BMW X4 xDrive30d review
This is the BMW X4 - a sportier four-door coupe version of the firm's popular X3 SUV.
Referred to by BMW as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC), the X4 is one of the more distinctive crossovers you can buy and pitches itself against the hugely popular three-door Range Rover Evoque.
Here we’re testing it in top-of-the-range M Sport trim along with a mid-range diesel engine to see how it stacks up in the real world.
Powerful diesel engine
There are three diesel engines to choose from, no petrol, and all X4s come with xDrive - BMW’s excellent four-wheel drive system. We’re testing the mid-range 3-litre option with 255bhp and 560Nm of torque.
It may not the prettiest car in the car park, but boy is it fun to drive. Powerful on the throttle, 0-62mph is dispatched in just 5.6 seconds and the car is surprisingly agile despite its size.
