2015 Toyota Innova - Review, Price, Engine, Release date
ccording to a report published in Business Standard, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will start production of diesel engines in the country. The company will first initiate trial production at its facility in Jigani, Bengaluru with commercial production set to start early 2016. Currently, only petrol engines are manufactured at TKM's Bengaluru facility, while diesel engines are imported from Japan.
The new Innova is expected to be powered by the new ‘GD’ range of diesel engines. While the GD engine family includes 2.4- and 2.8-liter units, the Innova is likely to get only the former, which would replace its current 2.5-liter D4D ‘KD’ engine. Paired to manual and automatic transmissions, this engine is about 10 percent more fuel efficient on the new Hilux Revo, which debuted this new engine family.
